Life in Holland: changes in my mind
I’ve decided to make a kind of brief conclusion about my staying in Holland and the first thing that appears in mind about this issue is that Holland has changed my mind. I became Europe-addicted.
I feel a kind of dual personality now - half of me is always about Russia, which is my native land, and at the same time now my mind is more open then before coming here.
I like the freedom of going almost everywhere you want without such troubles as getting visa… I started to think in a geographical wider way (not sure that last phrase is correct in English but can’t state it now in other words). I’ve realized that Europe is a big set of cultures and great history. Certainly I knew this before (I had good marks at school!) but now I sense it. I am sure that I can’t stay only in Moscow for a long time because there are a lot of places which I have to see.
But the changes are caused not only by nice places but also by people I met here. People from different countries who shown me that we are quite similar even if we speak different languages. And knowing foreign languages gives you communication independence; it’s a bridge to other cultures. That’s why I decided that I should learn more foreign languages and the next one in my list is Spanish. So I can write now ‘Hola! estudio espanol’.

Hola !!
Nice entry! I’m really happy that you have decided to learn my language and visit my country.
I think that the European Union is a nice thing. Bordiers make no sense nowadays, I take my car and I only know I have gone from the Netherlands to Germany because there is a sign.
I believe that movility of people is really good. As you said, your mind is more open. That’s because you see different things and learn from them.
I hope you keep living your European experience.
